Matlight 4.0: New insight in material and light

Description

The Mat-Light 4.0 platform, developed by the University of Haute-Alsace (UHA) and the CNRS, embodies an innovative approach at the intersection of materials and light. As a winner of the ExcellencES program with a budget of €50M, Mat-Light 4.0 stands out for its multidisciplinary approach and advanced technologies dedicated to the materials of the future. It offers three main platforms: one for automated chemical synthesis, one for 3D/4D printing, and one for hybrid electron spectroscopy characterization. These infrastructures enable a thorough and rapid exploration of materials through a high-throughput automated screening platform, supported by artificial intelligence—an ideal solution for optimizing industrial processes in sectors such as health and sustainable materials. Mat-Light 4.0's 3D/4D printing platform includes a volumetric 3D printer, unique in France, capable of creating structures in seconds, along with a spectrofluorimeter for advanced molecular analysis. The materials characterization platform provides unique capabilities at the mesoscale through techniques like cathodoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy, allowing in-depth studies of material properties under various stimuli. Mat-Light 4.0 is a strategic partner for industry players, offering direct access to UHA's cutting-edge resources, an Open Lab, and collaborative projects aligned with current and future technological innovations.
